Depending on the severity of the storm, I wouldn't drive in it unless I absolutely had to. Lightning, Heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and even tornadoes can pose a threat to anyone exposed.
Basically, just use common sense like listening for weather reports (tornado, flood, wind warnings) and assess whether it's safe or not to risk it before getting behind the wheel in a thunderstorm.

All is fine just as long as you take it easy and don't panic. If you feel the rain is too heavy stop. Its better to get to where your going in one piece than not all. Drive with your lights on. And if it starts to hail or if you stop don't do what most people do. Never park under a tree. People do this to protect the vehicle but stop to think the damage that could happen if the tree fell on top of you.

If you live in Florida, you should kno that a thunderstorm will never keep us from going anywhere. Its dangerous but if you just think about it, if you wait for a day that is not going to storm, your going to waste your time inside. It storms every single day in Florida in the summer. So0o the summation in all of this is basically this. If your freightening from lightning, just stop when their is a storm and wait till it passes so0o you dont get into a accident

Very heavy rain can restrict your visibility. If you can't see where you are going, pull over to the side of the road and leave your lights on. Lightning is not a problem. Even if the car is struck by lightning you are safe inside as it acts as a faraday cage.

It is safe. Your car is a Faraday cage, meaning that nothing within can be affected by electricity because of the metal surrounding the car, not because of the rubber tires. You will be fine. Drive safely.

It's fine, just go slow and take your time. If you really feel uncomfortable about driving in the thunderstorm then maybe it's better that you don't, especially at night. Be careful.

it's safe as long as there is no sky to ground lightning and it isn't pouring rain. just take your time and drive carefully and slowly, and you'll be just fine :)
