Hi all..I just went for a check up today. My gynae said that my baby is small and my due date increase upward. Means like the baby is small than his due date..My baby is now 33 weeks but it looked like it just 29 weeks..I feel down for a moment. His head is normal, it is just his body is small..Anyway, my gynae asked to eat my daily supplements and other vitamins given double..Should be like obimin taken once per day..but now I got to take twice per day and also for other vitamins. Other parts, everything is ok with the baby..it is just he slowly grow and as advised by him, he asked me to eat a lot but accordingly. I think this happened maybe I eat less recently, only eat breakfast, lunch & dinner..no additional food. I was so worried with my baby.My gynae also said that, on my next check up that is another 2 weeks from now, if the baby condition still remain like this, caesarean will be proceed to avoid pressure to the baby..What do u think of this guys..:-(

Just in case you do have to have the baby premature I would suggest you hit every site and ever book you can find and read on premature infants. It is better to be prepared.

I am NOT saying you will have the baby in two weeks, just be prepared. I wish more women did this with normal pregnancies.

My son was at 29 weeks looked to be 26 and I gave birth 2 weeks post term to a 8 pound 10 ounce healthy boy. All pregnancies are different so for us to tell you exactly what will happen is just wrong.

So for now eat plenty of proteins, carbs and fruits. Do as your doctor says and sit and read as much as you can. Believe me sitting on your butt doing nothing in its self is a good way to gain during pregnancy. teeheeI

Good luck hun and hope to see you on here in two weeks to let us know how things are going.

You need to put on more weight. The baby puts its weight on in the last couple months of your pregnancy. Therefore, you need to be taking in more calories so the baby can put that layer of fat on under the skin. Premature babies look like wrinkled little old men because they have very little body fat. It's up to you to start eating some healthy snacks and taking in more food so your baby can fatten up and be strong when it's born. As for the C-section, perhaps your doctor thinks that if the baby can't grow any larger, there could be a problem and they'll need to take him early. Drink some milk shakes, eat more pasta and whole grain bread and more fruits, have your three meals and at least 2 more snacks a day so the baby will look good in 2 weeks. If the head is normal and everything else looks fine, don't worry. Just do your part. :)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and ASSume that you are a teen? That would explain the size of the baby right there, it is called "low birth weight" and happens a great deal in teen births because the mother's body is not ready to gestate a full term pregnancy when she becomes pregnant. If you can I would get a 2nd opinion on the c-section

I think you should start eating more and eat healthy foods. Also do as your dr. said to do.
I don't understand why your dr. would want to do a C-Section when your baby is small. It seems to me that the longer he stays inside the womb, the healthier he will be. Maybe I didn't understand it all.

Kinda confusing what you're saying, and it's OB, your GYN is for when you aren't pregnant :) Before you have a C-Section, I would get a second opinion. They hack women up so easily nowdays, I'd check somewhere else first, and they can do Ultrasounds weekly, they shouldn't have to do a C-Section without trying other things first. I'd try a midwife, they're less invasive.
