Now now .. don't blow up on me .. I'm not anti-american (I'm canadian and I think USA is a good enough country) .. but I consider that this war is basically going nowhere.. it gets worse everyday and I think it's done enough damage already on both sides..

It's sad more and more soldiers are turning up dead .. and it's sad that civilians who have nothing to do with it die because of it..

But I still don't get why some americans still support that and still think it's to defend values..

I'd like to be explained?

Cause I don't see the lin between blowing up stuff and killing people on the other side of the planet and protecting values..

PS: To the person who made allusions to 9/11 ..

My god I wonder why people would hate the country who blows up their houses and families?

Why do Americans still believe in the Bush Administrations propoganda??? Easy, because some Americans are ignorant. I am American, but I am not ignorant. All people have to do is read. Iraq had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with 911. Iraq, had no weapons of mass destruction, which WOULD have been a threat to parts of the world, had they have existed.....

You have so many folks jumping on the bandwagon of "let's go kick some Iraqi *** in the name of the red white and blue" Who have no idea what we are fighting for, they buy whatever our government sells to them, they eat it up with spoons...They are ignorant, and sadly they vote.....

The war in Iraq isn't about protecting ANYTHING. We aren't looking for Osama Bin Laden, he was the mastermind behind the terrorism of 911. The war is about furthering George Bush, the firsts agenda...he started the first war in Iraq, back when they were massacring the Kurds...He brought our troops home w/ Saddam Hussein still in power, he accomplished nothing. His son, our current president, along w/ Dick Cheney, decided to finish what daddy started...It's that simple.

There are no values being defended, but plenty of American soldiers coming home in body bags.... Bush is as much of a threat to the world, as he says he's trying to protect us from....

I am not detracting from the troops, I support them they are just doing their job.....I support all our soldiers, not their commander in chief.

The common thread, as was the same in Vietnam, Korea, WWI & II, is that if the rights of democracy (which is funny because the US is a republic) are threatened anywhere, the American way of life COULD be threatened sometime. Like....we're the big brother of the world. If we don't stand up for our little brother, eventually the bully (again ironic because it is usually us) will get bold enough to attack the US. In many instances, the US instills these people into political limelight, and then whern they begin to think on their own or oppose the US (which in essence, hired them) then they become a liability.

If the US puts someone in position, and then that person (or regime) fails to do as we wish, and we fail to take action on said regime (now called harmful) we look like we can't control what we claim to control and others may get the idea that we can be taken over...

I believe our Military & the American people may have been fooled into this war. I think some Americans feel our Military is defending this Country and our values. This thought may have been a perplexed situation at the beginning of this war, but 85% of the American do not agree on this war and we have no desire to have a war with Iran!

Our Military are feed-up with the lies and do not have the proper equipment, but yet Bush has agreed on $Billions more to prepared what we broke. How much of this cost belongs to the insurgents?

I am from America, and still do not see how this war is defending my rights. It seems our rights would have been intact either way. I think some are under the mentality that Iraq was funding terrorists, who would have eventually grown to the point where they could outright threaten the American way through their brand of war. Personally, I think the politicians may have a hush-hush reason for being over there that no-one really knows about.

Sorry but I dont know any Americans that think this war is about protecting values. Where did you even get that idea? Last time I heard it was about keeping the USA safe. Wheteher invading Iraq has helped with that I have no clue. But I can say we havnet been hit since 2001. Either you believe it has kept them busy over there or you don't. No way to tell. Both political parties will use this to there advantage spinning it whatever way they need. Politics is not about right/wrong anymore its about staying in office.

This war has never been about U.S. Values. The U.S. Government had been trying to persuade Saddam Hussein not to break WWII treaties that restrict all oil purchases in the middle-east be with U.S. Dollars. Saddam was threatening to take Euros instead of Dollars and began doing so just before the end of the Clinton Administration. The U.S. Congress, Democrats and Republicans (Bush/Cheney) all knew that this move would severely damage the U.S. economy but they chose to use a different excuse for going to war over it. I doubt the U.S. populace would have approved going to war over oil. Now we're stuck in the middle of a civil war and it will be difficult to accomplish the original goal. If we pull out and the Shiites take control of Iraq, they could do whatever they want without fear we'll be back. Bush has put the U.S. in between a rock and a hard place. Saddam was practically on his knees trying to avoid an assault by the U.S. I think Bush, egged on by Cheney, blew it.

It's just Bush trying to sell it to the public as protecting american values. However, we're not all brain dead enough to believe that load of crap! He's trying to get people to think the way they did when Pearl Harbor was attacked but this is an invasion pure and simple and it's all about OIL!!! Many americans think it's patriotic to back a war for whatever reason and it's tragic so many have died for that belief. But there are millions of us that aren't buying that line and think this war is immoral and Bush is acting criminally. Wars must be declared and this one wasn't Wars must go through Congress and Bush bypassed them. It's criminal and he should be impeached and go to jail along with Cheney and quite a few others.

It's pretty safe to say that the soldiers in Iraq signed up after the war started.

We are in Iraq to have a foothold in that part of the world...same reason we are in S.Korea.

It's not about Iraq or Osama its about Iran.

Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.
Its not just oil.

We are in Iraq and Afghanistan...what sits inbetween the two?
IRAN! Who wants to be a nuclear power? IRAN.
Who's the big bad wolf of the middle east? IRAN.

Added.

We didn't desire to have a war with Great Britain..did we?
We didn't desire to be in ww1 or 2..but we were.
We do not desire to war with Iran no..but incase we need to..its better to be ready.

If you think these countries don't desire to war with us because they have nothing to lose...you are wrong.

Does George bush sit in a palace bought and payed for by oil? No, but the people running those countries in the middle east sure do. While their people are in an epidemic.

Go live in Iraq if you don't like it and stop hating on my freedom.

Do you really think it's about values? For most of our troops it's about staying alive. For the government it's about where it is on the map We cant afford to pull out. But what happens if we pack up and leave tommorrow? Iran & Syria (just to mention a couple) would love that! Then You will see innocent people murdered on a scale that Hitler himself could only dream of. Then what? Every country on earth better step up to the plate real soon .If you dont think this will effect every one of us your wrong! DEAD WRONG

We are fighting blood thirsty people who want to see all Americans dead. Has everyone forgotten 9/11? Iraq was thought to possess WMDs (weapons of mass destruction) and is still a hotbed of insurgent activity.

Other than that its probably because Bush is finishing what his daddy couldn't. Didn't Saddam threaten Bush's dad? I'm alittle stumped to, why aren't we relentlessly pursuing the terrorists to the ends of the Earth like we are supposed to be doing?
