How 'bout Johannes Gutenburg, inventer of the printing press, and essentially the father of high literacy rates? Or, you could write on Stephen Hawking as the brightest mind of our times, if you're looking to go at a more contemporary pace. Maybe Bill Gates... no one really does present-day people.. or they didn't when I was in school.
