v - 4(4-v) = -2(2v-1)

Distribute:
v - 16 + 4v = -4v + 2

Combine like terms:
5v - 16 = -4v + 2

Move all terms with v to one side and all terms without v to the other side:
9v = 18

Divide both sides by 9 to get v by itself:
v = 2

v-4(4-v)=-2(2v-1) distribute
v-16+4v= -4v+2 add the variable together
5v-16= -4v+2 add (-4v) to both sides
9v-16=2 add (16) to both sides
9v=18 divide by 9
v=2
