im really sorry to be the one with bad news but most first time mothers go over due. walking will help your labor go better but it will still be long mine were only like 71/2 hors wich is really good. and if you arent having braxton hicks then you will probley be over due to. but i have had 5 kids so i will tell you what they do feel like as best i can. Ok if you are standing and doing dishes or somthing and you have to stop and kinda bend over a little or feel a quick sharp pain in your vagina that is braxton hicks contraction and some you wont feel at all and also if you are dialated at all when you do become over due youur doctor will probley induce you so that is good news. with my first one i went 3 days over and when i went in on the 3rd day of being over due my doctor could tell i was done and he induced me that night and i did it natural im not sure if that is something you wanted to do but it is the best feeling of satisfaction ever well hope this help oh yeah it is a old wives tale that if you drink castrol oil it induces labor i dont recommend it cause i tried it and it was the nastyest thing ever and it made me throw up. also they say if you hook up your breast pump for a long time then sometimes that will stimulate contractions but ask your doctor first

Yes, you have time to walk and drink lot of water. Do not afraid to go to labor. Practice how to breath and learn how to relax then you are okay. You back pain may be less painful. Most of people are tense and nervous. They end up stay longer and pass their due dates. Some even takes more than 38 hours before having a baby. Making peace with yourself will help you prepare for child birth. Good luck and the best for every things.

First of all, not having Braxton Hicks doesn't mean you'll go late. I didn't have any with my 1st 2 pregnancies, and they were both a week early. Second of all, you should have been walking throughout your whole pregnancy. Not that it's too late to start now, but get moving and walk a lot. And I don't mean just strolling along, get your heart pumping and move! Don't run, but walk very fast, for as long as you can every night. It also can help make labor faster! Good luck to you, and don't worry, even if you go late, you'll have that baby soon. Congrats!

Walking is very healthy during pregnancy because it helps keep you fit which can make your labor easier. I walked my butt off with my first two because I thought it would start my labor. However it does not start labor. It can help to get your contractions going once you are already having them, though. There are alot of old wives tales that do help get your labor started, but none are guaranteed to work and most have unhealthy side effects. I know the last few weeks of your pregnancy seem longer to you than the whole thing, but be patient. Your bundle of joy will be here when he/she is ready, and it will be well worth the wait.

For some walking helps, others it doesn't. Walking helped me. With my first child, I walked about a mile and went into labor a week later. I didn't walk every day, just once. Anyway, whether it helps with labor or not, it won't hurt to get some walking in.
Do the contractions start in your abdomen and "travel" to your back? I think your getting close. Go ahead and go for a little walk, but don't tire your self out. Best of Luck!:)

No, walking does not cause labor to begin. However, it is a trick that nurses use on the L&D floor to keep the patients occupied for a bit, and to make them think they are doing something to help the baby come out. But, in reality, it's just making time pass by which of course will bring you closer to your destined delivery time!

Don't worry; if you are going to all your appointments with an OB, they will keep an eye on you so you won't go too far past your due date. usually they start scheduling induction at 41 weeks...

Best of luck!

Walking wont make you go into labor but it does help open up the hip bones which will be good for the delivery. I dont recommend this but it worked for me so I'll tell you anyway....I drank castor oil (it tastes horrible), it gave me dirreaha for hours ( I was miserable) which made me start contracting and I went into labor. Ive known a few others to try it and it worked for some and others nothing happened.

Walking helps. I was a week late with my son so an older lady at church said to eat eggplant and it would make you go into laber. It contains trace amounts of oxitocion (the chemical that triggers labor) So i tried it and i went into labor the next day. Good luck.
