Not a good idea and yes pulling a muscle can hurt. Tearing one can do serious damage. One thing you can do is, after stretching, get into the split position and have someone push on your hips to the point where it hurts and hold it for a 10 count. DO NOT GO PAST THE POINT OF DISCOMFORT! Doing this regularly should improve your splits.

Yoga has great stretches for that part of us. I bet there is a class near you. Limp on in early and see if you can get a personal instruction specifically suited to your needs. The reason yoga is so cool for athletes to learn is that you use your breath to help you stretch the envelope and to keep from having brain cramps that interfere with performance, if you know what I mean.

leg over the head sweetie. No really stand up and just bend straight over at the waist and touch the ground. If you can with flat hands. If not just finger tips is okay.

some leg stretching should solve the problem. go to gym and do some squats or you can do butterflies (dont really kno how to describe that in words.

how nice,my butt's painful too because of a mosquito bite,and now whenever i try to do my 'big businness' in the toilet,i see blood instead,i thought i have change into a girl
