To tell the truth, when they say your grandma has 3 weeks, that could very well mean 1 week. You may not have enough time to have the baby and recuperate enough to make the trip. And often babies that are born early need to be under a lamp for a few days because their liver is immature. That would also delay your trip. You may want to just plan on making the trip, only stay a couple days, then get back home.
I'm sorry about your grandma and about the stressful timing of the situation. Give your doc a call tomorrow and see what he suggests. Good luck!

yes you can deliver the baby at 37 weeks but there is still some delevoping and growth that needs to be done. I would say that it is not a great thing to do. I had my baby at 36 weeks due to complications and she had to stay in the hostipal for about 10 days because of being under weight and so tiny, it may backfire if you want to be with your grandmother at this time. My advice it to let nature take its course. good luck

it depends most doctors wont induce until you are over due i have 5 kids and one was 3 days over due and i got induced and i had one at 36 weeks and he had to have help breathing for 2 weeks so i would say no its not but the doctors also told me that it has a lot to do with race and gender if the baby will need help breathing. they said that african american girls do the best premature and then white girls and then african american boys and then little white boys and i had a little white boy so he needed extra help. I would say ask your doctors advice and then take your medical records with you. Also if this is your first baby a lot of them are over due. i hope this helps and im really sorry about your grandmother. And if you had the baby there she might get to see it and that might make her really happy. i wish you and your family the best of luck with your grandmother and your new baby

Due to the possibility of error in the exact age of your pregnancy it would be safer to bring your record with you and wait for natural delivery. Maybe you'll be lucky and go into labor before you have to leave. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, Good Luck and Be Safe!

yeah thats only 3 weeks early...babies dont usually have problems except wieght and size when born at that stage, a baby can survive outside the womb from 25 weeks although its hard and they have to be on machines they still have a chance of survival so you'll be fine, if it wasnt safe they wouldnt do it :)

At 37 weeks you are full term, however it is much more safe to let the baby come naturally for a variety of reason. I'm sorry about your grandma.

37 weeks is full term but do take your papers with you in case they say stress can cause a women to go into labor. If your flying which I'm not sure they will allow you to take extra precautions on board and walk around some if allowed.
