of latex or rubber off of something that is new latex or rubber? It has a very off scent- tried washing it with soap and water, soaking it in soap and water- but to no avail- any ideas??

wash with a cup of baking soda in the water and rinse with a cup of white vinegar, if that wont do it you are stuck with that tire store smell.

I noticed that someone said vinegar. I think that might work. It is very cheap. You should try that. Also, I am curious as to whether or not tomato juice would work. You can get a great big can of tomato juice (not too expensive) and soak your item in a pail with that for about a day. Kind of like a marinade. Maybe it would marinade it then. It has lots of acid in it. I don't think it could damage the rubber. I, myself, would try that if vinegar doesn't work.

mix fabreeze with inscence candles, with hot pizza smell with pepper or hang it above your frying pan while cooking bacon and eggs. Try putting it in the laundry, try swimming with them on, That should work like a charm. OOh Ooh, eat KFC with them on, that will get the smell out for sure!

take it with you to live in the desert for a while and it wont smell like rubber
