Thank God I have never had to be on a welfare program. I cant stand it when I go the the grocery store and someone in front of me has a wad of money and pulls out there welfare coupons. I look at there groceries and see they buy nothing but name brand while I buy store brand to save a few cents. No, I think there are times in peoples lives when they need a foot up. But I also believe that there should be a cap on welfare, and you should have to pay back every dime you had to use. If you don't pay it back you are black listed.....tough love. If your not a legal citizen of the US with legal papers you dont get Jack!!!! No anchor Baby welfare either!

Yes!!!

How about the "Go and get a job" program - that would be much more productive.

And we'll hear, "but what about the pregnant 18 year old in the ghetto"

And I respond "As you sow, so shall you reap. Just because we have alot of dumb idiots out there, doesn't mean we have an obligation to support them in their actions"

If the programs were there simply to support those transitioning to a better life;who were willing to further themselves educationally thus financially; the programs would eventually phase out.

Yes, that's how it was before the socialist programs started in the 1930s.Guess what people did better than now,People went to family or church for help.there was a since for urgency, so people worked hard to get on their feet.Today everybody feels in entitled to what everyone else has , but refuse to work for it.

There would be widespread crime (way more than now) and soon enough insurrection with no federal/state aid to the 25% of the country that receives it now.

Hell no!! Unless there was an absolute incentive for job creation and the means to get them. Otherwise, you're looking at total destruction of an american way of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.....
