Its an on and off thing - You don't have to, but if you've been with him for a couple valentines and don't do anything for any of the years, that can be troublesome.

That's not the point. Most guys I know don't really expect anything, but it would be nice to show that you appreciate and love him in some way, especially if you know he's getting you something nice. You don't have to buy it. Offer to do a chore for him that he really hates (you could make a coupon book) or make a romantic dinner. Just because he can buy whatever he wants doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve a gift.
P.S- Happy Birthday!

Being rich doesn't make a bit of difference. If he were poor I'm sure that he would still be getting you something. The question is should you do something for him? I would say yes, but keep it simple. If you can cook, bake him his favorite cookies or something. It's the little things that count. Do something that would mean something to him- if you love him it shouldn't matter whether or not it's your birthday. You should be doing it because you want to, not because you feel pressured to do so.

Valentine's Day isn't about how much money you spend. It's about the sentiment behind the gift. I made my boyfriend a shadow box of the special memories of the past year.....tickets of shows we went to, matches from special resturants and other special momentos. I'm also making him a cherry pie because I know it's his favorite. So, no you don't HAVE to buy anything for your boyfriend but you can show you care about him in other ways.

A lot of guys tell me that they really don't care what they get for Valentines Day. If youre not willing to spend a lot of money then don't. According to my boyfriend, Valentine's is more of a girl receiving gifts day. But some guys did tell me that getting something small lets them know that you were thinking of them. So maybe get him something small and special like his favorite candy or something. That's what I did.

He maybe filthy rich, but it will be nice if you can buy something with your whole heart and make him feel loved. It’s not the money you know, it is the fact that you care and show him so. Obviously he is doing that to you so why not treat him the same way??? After reading your question I am curious to know whether your love is true??????????

First, Happy Birthday to you, as tomorrow will be the DAY. For me, i will personally hope to surprise my bf as much as waiting to be romance by him. My bf also very rich, but he also deserved something that's nice Deserved, not must have. To me, if you love someone, we need to share the joy. The look on his face, so awesome. It will warm up your heart & felt love. Especially, the gift will be a SURPRISE.
So, my advice to u, birthday girl. Do something sweet for your guy, but, it must be from your heart.

Now Now Kassy lest not be selfish because its your birthday. Think of the love here. Make him a card and let him know how special he is or next year he'll find someone who doesn't have a birthday on any holiday. Get It.

Something that would be simple and inexpensive but would show him that you cared would be to make a scrapbook of some of your favorite pictures of the two of you and stuff you've done together.
I don't think you need to get him anything huge, but you'll feel awkward if he gets you something and you have nothing for him.

As a guy, trust me: Don't buy him anything.
Instead, if you really want to make his day, go out and buy something sexy for yourself to wear (it is your birthday after all...) and surprise him some night when he comes home from work.
Sorry if that's a bit blunt... ;)
