Eating vegetables is a touchy subject sometimes. I would advise that you do find a few that you do like and maybe some fruits to incorporate into your diet, especially if you are planning to become pregnant.

At this point you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking, 'great another dummy telling me what to do'.... LOL... that is perfectly fine :-)

Vitamins are an excellent supplement and are exactly that, a supplement. Let me give you an example of the power of vegetables..... as of 1/1/07... yes, just over a month ago, I weighed #275 just by increasing my consumption of vegetables, drinking more water and mild exercise, like walking for example, I have lost #22!!!!

I am convinced that there has to be at least one or two that you can tolerate... probably a couple of fruits too??? I'll even go so far as to say, if you tell me what kind of veggies you would be willing to try, for your good health and that of your potential child, i will provide as many recipes as you can cut and paste!!!

No joke here, I am a professional chef, culinary degree, studied nutrition briefly and am offering any help I can :-)

Now as far as dealing with your fiance.... he needs to be respectful of your diet and truly a OB/GYN or other doctor is truly qualified to determine if the lack of vegetables is hindering conception. Not anyone from Yahoo Answers, not him, just a doctor.... and if you feel that you want to make a change and eat fruits and veggies, please do not hesitate to ask :-) good luck with everything.

You've got a Great Man there....While I understand your Detest for the Veggies - maybe it's been the way they've been prepared - too soggy, too uncooked, bland, ect. I feel certain if you spoke with your Dr, they may indicate that is one of the many reasons you all might not be Conceiving. Upon Pregnancy to prevent Defects & a healthy child which we all want - Proper Nutrients Not just Chemical Vitamins will be Essential. I suggest you asking that Lovely Man.....How can you Help me Bend on this & support me.... You want to live a Long & Healthy Life don't you.....Perhaps it's time to try his way this time.....I'm sure it won't Kill you? Either way I wish you luck on Life, Love & the Pursuit of babies.

There are many ways Recipes to Hide Veggies in food., while it may seem a step down - Perhaps trying a Born again Kids approach for awhile - after all they are the biggest critics.

Wow I think he shouldn't force you to take anything that you don't like even though his intention is good. How about whipping up some vegetable and fruit juice? You get the vitamins too.

Regarding the baby, maybe you two should consult a doctor or go for a body checkup. For all you know, the reason might not lies with you but with him. I have a lot of friends who don't eat veggie but they can still conceive. Good luck.

Most prenatal vitamins have sufficient vitamins for a healthy pregnancy; however vegetables provide so much more. Folic acid is absolutely key to a baby's health during pregnancy. The best sources for naturally occuring Folic Acid are green leafy vegetables. Mix them in fruit salads for reduction in tastes. See attached website for more on healthy pregnancy.

BTW during our first pregnancy my wife was eating a whole watermelon every two days. She craved it so hard that we were buying them at stupid high prices just to keep her sated. Now my son from that pregnancy can't get enough watermelon either. There is something to be said about what the mother eats and what the child prefers.

I'm afraid you will have to find a way to incorporate vegetables into your diet if you want to have a decent life when you get older. You are depriving your body of necessary nutrients and vitamins just don't cut it.

Try some alternatives like tofu based foods (Morning Star Farms brand) or maybe you would like fajitas or other foods with veggies mixed in. Do you like juice? Perhaps eating more fish will help your health.

I have to say, I agree with your fiance.

You have to start eating veggies. Try eating hidden veggies mixed into your meals. Mothers usually get their kids to eat camouflaged veggies. Such as meatballs mixed with finely chopped carrots or something. Vegetarian restaurants should have a lot of those veggie burgers or stuff that are made out of vegetables that you could never tell whats in them.

Hey, its not only cause you two want to conceive. Its for your health's sake. Plenty of green vegetables protect you from cancer y'know.

What if you eventually have a kid, would you be okay if he didn't like vegetables? The best way to teach a kid to eat veggies is by showing how much you like eating it yourself.

My mom hates milk and anything fishy. Good thing my dad likes both. So I grew up loving milk, and veggies and now I'm making myself like fish, I love sushi, and tuna sandwiches already. Cos I know their omega 3 nutrients are good for me and less fattening.

Humor him, in a way.

Have him prepare for you a different vegetable each day. Keep an open mind and try it. You might be surprised and find one that you actually like, but if you don't like that vegetable, tell him so and then he'll have to find a different one the next day.

Either he'll eventually give up after he runs out of vegetables to try, or you'll find some that you like.

A vitamin a day is no substitute for a balanced diet.

Honestly, I'd say give them a chance. :3

You lose a LOT of tastebuds as you age, so things you hated with a passion as a child, you have a good chance of liking now that you're older (I love asparagus now!). Besides that, veggies should be a normal, healthy part of your diet. Vitamins can help, but you really should be getting all that good stuff straight from the source.

Humans were made to be omnivores- eating both veggies and meat. You get good things from both of them, but just as with anything else, too much of a good thing isn't quite such a good thing.
Find a single veggie or two you can tolerate- try many and see what you like to change things up everynight. And remember, fresh or frozen veggies are to die for! Pass by the canned stuff and get what's worth eating. :D

(You could always try disguising them, too- to get my brother and I to eat broccoli when we were young, my Momma let us have 'em with steak sauce!)

unless you get your vitamins from a very reliable, organic (expensive) source you can't be sure that they do the same for your body as good organic preferably locally grown fresh produce. even supermarket produce isn't all that fresh. try making delicious dips for your raw or lightly steamed veges (never canned). if you sautee butter and garlic then add whatever vege briefly they can taste ok.

Sometimes vitamins just aren't enough. Especially if you did get pregnant. People do alot of things they dont want to do, and hopefully you would too to help a new life form and be healthy. Maybe you could at least try to do the right thing.
