I am 17 years old and want to become a singer, but I don't know how to break in to the music industry. What do I do to get management representation and break in?

With all due respect, you rather have it backwards. Once you are a trained and experienced singer, THEN you work to "break into" the music industry.

First learn the craft - actually, first study but wait for your voice to mature so you can learn what kind of instrument you have. Learn how to use it, learn to read music, perhaps play an instrument, learn some basic music technique. And at the same time, get a good liberal arts education, so you are not just another voice with no brain in an industry that has more of those than we need.

Then - and only then - start to worry about representation. There are lots of folks out there who will be more than willing to take your money. But first - learn the craft.

Go to 1750 N. Vine St. Los Angeles, CA and crash through the doors late at night.

Sleep around with a whole bunch of ugly fat people with influence, basically.
