The traction control can be turned off, it's a rental so I don't much care if it isn't great for the car as long as it doesn't cause severe damage.

The 2.8 liter engine has 210 horsepower, but the car is a bit bulky and it has traction control (in the most recent CTS, not sure what year you have). If you have a manual transmission try starting out in second gear and get the rpms up before you let off the clutch. If you have an automatic you can do a neutral slam (rev up enine in neutral then slam it into drive) though I don't recommend this as it could easily destroy your transmission.

The best method would be to put two bald tires on your drive wheels and get onto some wet blacktop. While holding down the clutch or brake give the car some gas, when you hit about 3,500 rpms let off the clutch or brake and mash the throttle.

Good way to break it. Try putting some water by the tires and then power brake. It might break them loose, but I doubt it. Oh yeah the tires have to sitting in the water.

Put the car in Neutral and rev it up, then put it in drive. Your tires should break loose.
