I wonder if you'd want to open a blog. It's much easier to maintain, you can add to it every day or whatever, and personalize it a lot. Photos, etc.
And it's easy: See that little word, "Blog" in blue in the upper right hand corner? Click on it and try.
Websites are a lot different, and don't need to change much, like as if you had an online store to sell stuff or whatever.

The link above "office.com" is more for business.
Microsoft has live spaces for personal websites (it's also free). http://spaces.live.com/

Google and Yahoo also have personal pages if you'd rather go that route.
