The two first notes of the chorus sound almost EXACTLY alike. Was Roger Waters influenced by The Rolling Stones?

Well it's not like either is a Beethoven symphony, with songs so basic and trivially simple, any similarities are possible. It's like blues, everything is exactly the same boring three chords, so it's all really the same. Although, it's possible that you include a part in your song unconsciously taking it from something you heard ages ago. Jimmy Page said he intentionally took the first two notes from the Beatles' "Something" and used them in the Stairway to Heaven lick - you think anyone noticed or cared? It's just two notes, for god's sake, you can find them in just about every song.

I always noticed that too...

I really dont think that it was intentional, but Im sure that Pink Floyd did listen to the Rolling Stones and were consequently influenced by them, and visa versa.
