The Strip is 4 miles long, and the casinos range from large to enormous so your feet are killing you by the end of day one, believe me. But, there is a bus ("the Deuce") and a trolley that go all the way up and down the Strip. The bus also connects Downtown. There are also several shuttle or tram systems that connect related casinos for free. There is also the main monorail with stations all the way down one side of the Strip (not at the street, but behind casinos). Honestly, they're all a pain because traffic on the Strip is excruciatingly slow most of the time, which effects bus, trolley, and shuttle. And the monorail stations are only convenient in some cases. That's why I drive, taking the side streets. My advice is to check the website of the place your staying; you're likely to find they do have a free shuttle to a Strip destination, and you can go from there. This link has info and links that will fill you in on all these alternatives:

As for reasonably priced hotels, I think the Orleans, Tropicana, Sahara, Imperial Palace, and Monte Carlo are all fairly decent and reasonably priced. I usually prefer Downtown, though, since it's an easy 5-10 minute drive to the Strip from there. A good site for reviews and links is http://www.cheapovegas.com

Yes it does....Some "Off Strip" hotels can be 20 miles away from the strip. Vegas has three main hotel areas. Downtown Las Vegas, The "Boulder Strip" and the Las Vegas "Strip". The Las Vegas Strip is not actually in Las Vegas. It's in Paradise and Winchester townships. The city boundary ends at Sahara Blvd which is the beginning of the Strip. Also be careful where you stay. Some areas are very dangerous. You can stay downtown for less than the strip and it's only a 5 mile trolley or bus ride to the strip. Keep in mind that the Strip hotels are also about a quarter mile apart. It's a long walk from one end to the other (4 miles on each side) if you plan to go in every hotel. Most of the hotels on the Boulder Strip (which is probably your lowest room rates) have shuttle buses that will take you to the strip and back free. The lowest priced rooms on the Strip would probably be at the Sahara or the Riviera. They are two of the oldest properties on the Strip.

It is easy to find transportation to the strip from some of the off strip resorts. Many of them have free shuttles to the strip. There is a $2 bus that runs up and down the strip as well. If you are looking for affordable hotels, and just need a place to sleep and shower, try Barbary Coast. It is centre strip, great location, they don't have all the fancy amenities some of the big properties have, but their prices are reasonalbe as well. Like the other posters have said, the strip is huge, and properties seem to go on forever, wear comfortable shoes as you will be doing lots of walking.
I have seen some sites that have maps and walking distances. Good luck.

Discover now the best sport betting system: http://sport-betting-tips.checkhere.info
Too many people think of sports betting as just something they do in their past time. However, many people can see the potential that exists if you manage to have the right sports betting strategy and correct approach to betting in general. Are you sick of losing? Interested in finding out how to turn your luck around? Do you want to know which sports betting strategies stand to help you make the most from your betting?
Any good strategy should allow you to place bets based on a systematic method. Of course there is always a random element or so called luck involved, but betting is all about stacking the odds in your favor. There should be no guess work involved or bets placed based on gut feelings. Betting is a business and it should be treated like one. Any money you use for betting needs to be separate from money you use for your daily life or anything else. How can you possibly expect to follow a strategy with money that was originally set aside to pay next week's rent with? You can't. This will help you to focus on the task of betting and remove any emotional strings attached to the money.
So what makes a good strategy or what should you look for in a strategy before you decide to implement it? Any good strategy needs to have a positive expectancy. This means that in the long run you will win. The hit rate of the strategy needs to be above 50% for you to be able to profit in the long run. An ideal win rate should be between 60 to 70%, because you will need to cover the fees and other expensive associated with betting. Is it feasible to expect you'll be able to find a system that has a 100% win rate? No, it isn't. The best you can do is find a system that has a positive expectancy and stick with it. In the long run you will make more money than you can possibly lose.
Keep whatever information and news you have about the teams as up to date as possible. Any changes in the teams makeup or factors that affect how the players play will great affect the potential outcome of a match. Make sure that you are constantly up to date on every aspect that affects the potential outcome of a match. Information is the key to winning at sports betting.

No. There is a trolley that runs in Vegas and there are Cabs everywhere. Save your money, and stay off the strip - just go visit the sites. Also if you look at the hotel sites the prices may be cheaper. Check Circus Circus etc.

It all depends on how much you want to walk. First of all do not walk much during june to august. It is about 110 outside. At this time of year it's only 60. Casinos are also not as close as they seem. It may look close but could take 20 minutes to walk. Try to take advantage of tram systems that go to several casinos for free. Otherwise, you will need to take taxis or go by car. For cheap hotels, go to older and kid friendly hotels such as Circus Circus, Excalibur or New York New York. Circus Circus is at the end of the strip if you don't mind. The other 2 are towards the middle. Avoid newer and well known casinos like Wynn, Caesar's Palace and Bellagio.

Not at all, one street over is a long city block but totally walkable. we stayed there over NYE weekend off the strip and walked each day and saw every hotel on the strip. (Rio and the Palms you would need to take a cab to).
we statyed at the super 8 motel and it was fine. clean, quiet room which was all we needed because we were only there to shower and sleep anyways.
Even if you stayed on the strip aat one end you would do a lot of walking anyways to go to the other end of the strip, so one block over isn't much more.
Another tip cabs are not allowed to stop on the strip to pick up a fare, so if you get tired and decided to catch one, go to the front of any hotel and they will get one for you (there is always a bunch lined up ready to go)
have fun

The city bus system runs right past the Orleans and will take you to the Strip. Same with downtown, which is just as much fun, more real, and lots cheaper.

If you are talking about motel6 or hooters it would be no problem. If you are talking about hard rock cafe or terribles, it is too far to walk. I recommend less than 100 yards. If you do not save money go to the Sahara or the Stratosphere and take the monorail or the bus. We took both of those and the trolley and it was not bad at all.

Its very crowded here. Lots of times many rooms are booked and taken. You should plan ahead and reserve a room in a hotel on the strip.
