Okay, so, I shave my vag and I have for awhile. Razor burn is generally unavoidable, what with the horror that are college showers. This wouldn't be a problem, but I just shaved and it looks kind of ugly...and I'm going to be posing nude soon for a friend's photography project, and I'd rather not the red bumpiness be preserved on film. Hopefully it'll fade by then, but if it doesn't, would lotion help? And is it just a bad idea in general to put lotion in that general area? Thanks!

I put baby lotion or aveno on it all the time after I shave and I have never had any problems.

Bikini Zone cream works better than lotion. I guess you will try using baby lotion. The red bumps are caused by bacteria under the skin. Bikini Zone cream eliminates the bacteria. You might try hydrocortisone cream too. It would be best to go and get waxed if you are going to have pictures made. Waxing can produce better results than shaving if you can tolerate the pain of waxing. I recommend the Seiko Cleancut Shaver for shaving the bikini area. I think Witch Hazel is something else you can use to get rid of the red bumps.

I'm wondering why you don't wax?? Maybe some baby powder? I don't think lotion will help, but in general I don't see why it's a bad idea as long as it's keep external.

i always put lotion after i shave. It does soften your skin to avoid the redness and those ugly bumps BUT you are only meant to put it, lets say, around the vaginal area of course...... do you shave completely? i only do a bit to avoid havin to wear a bikini with the bush coming out....

Lotions will not hurt unless you put them in the vagina. Even then most won't harm you. Powder would be a better idea.

No, go ahead...you should be fine. Try to avoid using something with a lot of fragrances or dyes, though, because that might dry the skin out.

if you have razor burn then make sure the lotion has no perfumes or dyes because it might irritate the area more, and make it more red and swollen.
