That's rediculous. You can exercise, just listen to your body and stop if you get too tired. Also, stick to easier exercise like walking rather than running after the first trimester.

Being a mother of 4 boys from the time I got pregnant I worked out the doctor will tell you it is healthy for you and the baby.It also helps with labor and delievery. When I had my first son I got to the hospital at 11:30 pm and had him at 11:40 pm.Just don't over due it take breaks more then you would not being pregnant, drink plenty of water and your good to go.So 140 heart rate WILL NOT COOK YOUR BABY.

You are safe to exercise, especially if you were exercising before you found out you were pregnant. Don't ever exert yourself, that be dangerous for baby and make sure you do a really good cool down after exercise so that you aren't depriving baby of oxygen and substantial blood flow. Generally 30 minutes at least is good.
Just DO NOT EXHAUST YOURSELF.
Your baby is sitting in extremely hot amniotic fluid right now anyway so I don't know where she is getting that theory. Haven't hear it before but it could very well be true.
Also make sure you wear loose comfy clothign so that your skin can breathe during exercise and don't over heat.
Your heart rate during pregnancy will be higher anyway.
good luck

My OBGYN told me that anything exercises I was doing before getting pregnant were fine to continue while pregnant. At a certain point you won't be able to do situps anymore. The only thing I was advised against as far as "cooking" the baby went were hot tubs and hot baths.

To just one 1/2 of the married couple are these persons "inlaws". To the opposite half of of the couple, they're often called "mothers and fathers". Giving unsolicited advice is rude however i'd rarely time period it *immoral*.

my ob told me that sauna's were a no-no because you could hurt your baby if your body heat goes too high, so to a degree, what their telling you is somewhat true. how hot you have to be before your baby is in danger, i don't know. also, my sister n law has high blood pressure and her ob told her that if her blood pressure goes up too high, especially before 16-20 weeks, it could KILL her unborn baby!
they all do agree that moderate exercise is cool, but don't over-do it and always check with your dr before starting anything new if you are pregnant. hope this helps.

She is obviously from a background where "old wives tales" are still taken as truth. Just smile, and nod, thank her and then go back to what you were doing. If your doctor tells you to slow down then do so. Other than that,,,just keep smiling and nodding, because I am sure there are going to be a few more gems she is going to come up with.

I did read somewhere that you should keep your heartrate below a certain number while pregnant, but it wasn't becasue it would cook the baby. I think it was more trying to not over exert yourself.

I was told when I was pregnant that moderate exercises will not hurt the baby. But you should check with your doctor first.

I doubt it, but it is always best to consult your doctor. When my wife was pregnant with our first child her co-workers would fuss at her when she ate spicy foods. It would supposedly make the baby go blind. People have some weird notions.
