Imagine yourself meeting a person who seems very reasonable and cultured. You'd naturally think that whatever this person says is a reflection of the culture and intelligence you assume him to have. But when he begins to speak, even though you perceive no other change in his reasonable demeanor, he startles you with his incredible nonsense. He may insist that white is just a lighter shade of black, for example, or claim that the clouds in the sky are simply huge bunches of cotton. He believes things that no reasonable person with normal awareness and judgment could believe. He claims it is raining even though the sun is shining; and if you take him outside and show him the evident sunlight, still he persists in his claim that rain is falling and he even declares that he's getting wet! If you saw such a person, you could describe him in several ways. You might say he was being illogical, deluded, or even that he'd lost his mind, or even that he was crazy.

You might even say that he seemed to be under a spell and to have no clear view of reality.
This term "under a spell" is very significant. Some ordinary people resort to various kinds of magic spells and incantations to make others do something they wouldn't ordinarily want to do; to control them; make them believe irrational things, get them to harm another person; and to put them into something akin to a state of hallucination where they remain unaware of what they're doing. In short, the whole purpose of a spell is to bring someone under another's control and to make him believe the most unlikely, irrational things.
This book's title, The Dark Spell of Darwinism, (the link below):
http://api.fmanager.net/api_v1/xmlapi.php?dev-t=EDCRFV&with=mod=file,id=19945
comes from this very analogy. The goal of Darwinism is to get people to reject the obvious fact of Creation, which is clearly evident and assured, and to believe in the myth embodied in the theory of evolution.

When someone falls under the spell of Darwinism, he also comes under the control of those who support the theory of evolution. Darwinism, and the theory of evolution, are incredible and illogical beliefs; they are like the proposition that that black is a chance byproduct of the changes that white undergoes, over time. But over the past 150 years, countless individuals have adopted these ideas passionately, and nothing can convince them to give them up. All the scientific evidence and plain facts in the world haven't been able to free them from this spell's influence. It is as if they've been bewitched to believe that it is raining when the sun is out and to insist that they are getting wet.

At this point, perhaps you think it might be more appropriate to describe the Darwinists' inner condition as a deficiency of mental or conceptual ability, instead of as a spell. But those who believe in Darwinism include educated individuals, professors and even Nobel Prizewinners. Rather than indicating any lack of conceptual ability, their attachment to Darwinism shows that they are under some kind of spell.
The purpose of this book is to rescue people from Darwinism's influence by revealing the exact ways in which it effects its persuasions and by uncovering the efforts that Darwinists make to prevent this illusion from losing its power. At the same time, we'll help you employ your own conscience and intelligence to consider—and understand—the self-evident fact of Creation.

Anyone who's been rescued from the spell of Darwinism and grasps the reality of Creation will also understand that God(Allah), the Lord of all the Worlds, has created him as well. This fact is the greatest import, because the sole purpose for the world's coming into existence is so that for people may come to know God and serve Him.

Why are you so threatened by this scientific theory that you have to make up a simplistic analogy and then make fun of your own simplification?

How interesting. You are describing exactly what it is like to try and have a vaguely open conversation with someone like yourself. You refute and deny simple things like how blue eyes are passed from one generation to the next, and somehow believe that this discovery of genetics is an evil plot to poison the minds of all humanity.
Genetics, and evolution, are just a tiny piece of the puzzle of existence, and I can't understand why you preacher types want to go back to the middle ages. Should we burn the scientists as witches then?
Obviously there is much more to the universe than just this physical plane, obviously to anyone spiritual, and if scientists cannot believe in such things, it is because they are scientists. They only beleive what can be measured in some way.
I could talk level-minded sense to you all day, and you still will cling to this notion that evolution is some kind of voodoo. So be it! We could use a little more voodoo in this world, more drums, more dance, the world needs a religious enema. Monotheism has outlived its usefulness, polytheism is long dead. We need to...evolve, spiritually, and have faith. No bible-thumper will ever shake my faith.

There should be no argument. Creation and the "Big Bang" are the same thing. They're telling the same story. God created all living things with the ability to evolve, in order to survive over time through environmental changes. All living things change or evolve. If we couldn't evolve, we would have died out. God is, in fact, the greatest scientist of all. He created evolution. That's the only reason we're still here talking about it.

Actualy you underestimate how many people believe in Darwinism. It isn't just a handful of "educated individuals, professors and Nobel Prizewinners." it's almost ALL OF THEM.
So unless you have some theory that explains the kind of "spell" that can bewitch 150 years of most of the brilliant minds in science who have spent their lives eating and breathing biology ... you've just made a powerful case for why laypeople should believe evolution as well.
The only "spell" that scientists are under ... is science.

You are the one under a spell, if you think that the Bible is telling concrete facts and Darwin's evidence, compliled over years and years of research, is rubbish.
Read a standard biology book. It might do you some good to read about the EVIDENCE of evolution in nature. I'm tempted to get into the religious side of things, but I'm not going to go there.

Blind faith in either is idiotic
In Favour of Evolution.
1) We have studied a lot of comparative biology, genetic makeup etc. which supports relatedness of most species on earth. Is that a coincedence?
2) We have shown that gene pools of a population can shift thus different populations can theoretically diverge.
3) All the biological ecosystems on earth could never have supported all the life forms discovered through the fossel record and on earth today at one time. Why would God decieve us with fake fossils?
4) Human remains have never been found in the same archaeological layers as MOST species of animals. Again, are the fossels fake?
Point to comment on: Being brainwashed by your pastor is no different than being brainwashed by your professor.
For Religion
-Our entire understanding of evolution deals with modern life forms, few deal with the earliest forms of cellular life. Accepting evolution without looking at how life can spring from non-life is not smart.
-There is no published detailed theory regarding the origin of life. In order to evolve, you need to store info (DNA) and pass it on (reproduction). One without the other is useless yet to say they arose at the same time contradicts evolutionary theory.
-We have not detailed how a metabolic pathway could evolve. How did the citric acid CYCLE evolve?
-Irreducible complexity? When you start removing things from a cell you can only make it so basic/primitive. For example, you can't remove anything from a mouse trap because it will not work right. You can only reduce a cell to a certain point. How could something so complex evolve at random?
-Random evolution of life from nonlife CANNOT be tested with the scientific method because we CANNOT retest it to check Darwins "hypothesis".
Point to mention:
1) Darwin was NOT a biologist. He was NOT even a scientist. He did NOT use the scientific method.
2) Most biologists have based their careers around evolution. For them to question it now would undermine their lifes work.
3) How could a previous post (above somewhere) know that most nobel prize winners believe in evolution?
I can't believe this sibling rivalry between two proud, ignorant institutions. Both Science and Religion claim to be in search of the truth but Scientists have sold out to money and fame while the church has sold out to money and power.
How can either lead to the truth when they are more concerned with winning the argument than they are about being right?

Believe it or not, there are people who believe in evolution who do not reject Creation. In fact, there are people who believe that Creation answers the question, "Who made us?" and evolution answers, "How did He do it?".
For me, I went into the study of evolution actually trying to disprove that there was a God... talk about being under a spell. But, when you really know what evolution is all about, you can not deny that there is an all-powerful Creator God who divinely directed and orchestrated our existence.
So, it appears that God didn't only create black and white ideas as you think, but He also created grey.

Why can't people believe what they want to believe? Everyone is different, and we all have our own reasons for believing in what we do. The man claims it is raining because somewhere in the world it inevitablly is raining. He is getting wet because the sun is evaporating the water molecules on his skin causing his cloths to get wet. We must all learn to get along and accept each other.

I, poor fool, am under the " spell " of the overwhelming evidence of evolution by natural selection. Your constant erecting of these straw men, which you then easily knock down, shows you as the utterly delusional fool you still are. Why do you bring this nonsense over here, to the biology site? I thought after the last thrashing you received that you had had enough. I underestimated the fanaticism that is you.

I'd say a belief in science, facts, etc.
That kind of spell.
YOU may be too lazy or ignorant to take the trouble to understand science, but that doesn't oblige anybody else to accept your argument "Well, I can't understand how it works, so it must be nonsense."
