I am gay, and I was wondering if as a child you ever wished you were the opposite gender. When I was in late elementary school, there was a time when I wished I was a girl. This feeling eventually died away within a year or two. What do you think caused it? Did this happen to any of you?

Sure, I wanted to be a boy, they had all the fun! I think I knew that I wasn't a someone who would be 'taken care of' - which is what I understood a woman to be - so - I figued I must be something else, not quite a boy ... but.... well.... Now I am happy to be a woman and a lesbian, and understand that I can do all the things the boys can do as a woman.

Not me, I never wished I was the other gender. There was a brief time when at the beach I wouldn't go topless. Face it, 10 years old with chest hair and not much down below flipped me out. So I'd take tee shirts and cut the bottom half off. I blamed it on too much shoulder sun. Come to think of it, I think I invented that style.

I got along with the opposite gender better, but I never wanted to be the opposite gender. I had four brothers, and was happy being "one of the guys". I guess a lot of younger kids do that whole thing though: it might not mean anything, especially if it went away. If it keeps popping up, you might see a therapist who's used to dealing with gender issues to help you figure yourself out.

I wanted the laziness of getting to pee standing up, for the most part. I didn't know yet that girls can actually pee standing up (there is a trick to it). But some people think a penis is needed to give a woman great sex, but they are soooo WRONG!!
My god, the best sex with females doesn't even involve a penis! They all said that girls wouldn't look at me the way I wanted them to because I'm not a male. They never told about lesbians! Once I discovered all the things girls can do, I didn't care about being a male.

Yeah, sort of. Except the feeling didn't go away. And it was the other way around. I grew up female, wishing to be male. And so I did.

Well when I was a little boy I wanted to be Shera or Gem (from Gem and the holograms) Not because i wanted to be a woman exactly, but I just always loved seeing a woman kick booty. Call me strange I guess.
