i'm a freshman in high school. it's been a couple of months since school started and i haven't made a single friend. everyday during lunch i go to a secluded place. my class is doing this 'know about each other thing' where people speak aloud in class. one of the questions is 'what do you for lunch?' everyone is forced to participate and it's gonna be my turn. i'm very afraid. what should i do?

Simple. Don't try to force yourself on everyone. Join a sport, play some games w/ people, do good work, gain respect. Do anyone of the above.

I know how that feels ... when I was in junior school I didn't have friends and I used to sit and read during break, or wonder around pretending I was looking for someone so I didn't look lame... I hated it when groups would invite me over ...coz I just felt like they were doing it coz they felt sorry for me... it took me a while to make some great friends... but you know, don't be too proud, let people see you and invite you over... and if they don't, start saying hi to people in your classes... even if they look at you funny at first... it may start up some conversations and then when break comes around the ice will be broken and you can maybe ask them if you can sit with them... you might need to be the instigator of these things... but don't feel bad if they reject you at first... you will not always click with every group. Also use that getting to know each other time in class to see which people you would like to talk to, and maybe use what they say to break the ice... half the work is done for you then.

Most of all... remember 'no one can make you feel inferior without your consent" (eleanor roosevelt)... it's gonna suck... I'm not gonna lie about that... but you can make changes that can change the situation you're in... maybe find out if there are clubs at school that you would be interested in... go and join them there might even be people in your class there, and that will automatically give you something in common... I HOPE THAT HELPS!

You know, High School is a tough time and it seems like people are always looking for ways to hurt or make fun of you. It wasnt that long ago when I was in high school and went through very similar circumstances as you. I dont really know what is the best answer for you. You could say "I like to read" or something, but I know that doesnt help much. Just remember...high school is not the whole world. What happens there is just for a few years. You are important and you are somebody. most of all, you are God's creation. Dont let kids hurt you.

Just tell them that during lunch I eat my lunch, than i usually leave a little bit early to go take a piss before my next class. Tell them what you bring for lunch usually too. and say that sometimes you buy lunch if there is something good on the menu. say you like chicken nugget day, and on that day you usually get a double lunch. other than that you dont got to prove shlt to them so fckem.

Tell them. Explain to them the situation calmly, not like you are throwing yourself a pity party but stating the facts. It might be that people are just unaware and this is a perfect once in a lifetime chance to change that.
