So sad that you would probably not be able to ask anything like this due to lack of analytical capability.....I don't mean to be rude but seriously if you don't know or if you can't even answer the question don't waist space answering just move on to the next question!!!!

Without a strong nationalistic pull none of these people would have ever come to power. Nationalism, or patriotism, is just a cover for gaining power to move a nation in the direction these men wanted. Consider our own government...
Bush claimed in the beginning to want to help the American people. He promised to help America after 9/11 fight terrorism against our beloved country. He used the langauge that sounded altruistic to get the FBI, CIA, NSA, military, Supreme Court and Congress to do what he wanted.
Hitler did the same thing.
So did Stalin.
So did Ho Chi Minh.
So did many.

Patriotism is the means which a hurt, poor or wartorn populace will unite under a person who promises change.

Patriotism is means by which very incapable men gain power. However, if people didn't force other people into poverty then maybe patriotism could be as harmless as is was intended to be, like the loyalty football fans show to their teams.

The underlying lesson is, if bad things start happening and some politician claims he or she is a true "---" and she or he only can lead the "---" people to greatness, then you can bet there is some catch or really bad event looming over the horizon...

I think Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco are madmen.

Hirohito was nationalist but that's how the Japanese are.
