If you draw a horizontal line from (1,7) to (1,3), it is 4 long, right? Then if you draw a vertical line from there to (5, 3), it is also 4 long, right? So you have two sides of a right triangle, both of length 4. That means the length of the hypotenuse, which is the distance, is the square root of 4 squared + 4 squared, or the square root of 32, which is 4 times the square root of two. And the midpoint is (3, 5) of course.

For this, you have to pinpoint both sets of coordinates, being 1 and 5 "x" coordinates and 7 and 3 "Y" coordinates. Once you do that you can easily check (in this case) that the midpoint is given by (3,5) and that the distance is given by d = Square Root ((5-1)^2 + (7-3)^2) = 5.657.

This is an easy one:
Length = 5.66
Mid point is at (3,5)
Good luck.
