Agree. Musically, I think NO's songs have aged better because their early music didn't rely as heavily on electronics as DM. As much as NO gets pegged as an electronic band, they're really much more than that. They blend electronics and live instruments better than any other band. As far as melodies go, NO's are much more memorable. Lyrically, they're both somewhat on the trite side and not one of their strong points. And performance-wise, NO comes out ahead as well, as it feels much more real and less choreographed.
So for me, New Order is the better better band.

Totally agree. I like Depeche Mode, but I think New Order are a million times better.

I disagree. I like them both very much, but DM has stood the test of time better than NO, even with their fairly recent stuff.
Also, Depeche Mode has always put on a better show than New Order, with one exception being Summer 1989 when New Order played with the Sugar Cubes and PIL. That one rocked!

I disagree both have different rhythm I rather see depeche mode in concert over new order I like both though.

I prefer Depeche Mode but New Order have some great ones to like 'Your Town' for example.......Im going to go with Depeche Mode for 'Enjoy The Silence' and another, but I don't remember the title except apart from a lyric 'how does it feel to treat me like you do'........x

wholeheartedly agree. No comparison. New Order is a cut above, Depeche mode is fine, but nothing special.

Disagree. New Order have done a few good tracks over the years, but Depeche have done far more. even though they have done a few stinkers over the years.
