Places that hold a special interest to you, so that other people visiting them will share at least one interest with you. People you meet at work may share interests along those lines. If you take your kids to the park you will meet other parents. If you go to college parties you'll meet other people who enjoy a college party atmosphere.

I don't recommend having physical relationships with anyone you work with, though.

This is gonna look like an advert, but www.meetup.com has special interest groups that meet regularly (usually once a month) for doing stuff like board games, book reviews, eating sushi, or whatever the group is about.
