I understand what happened a few years back with the Dixie Chicks... but they took home a lot of Grammy's last night. In your own opion, do you believe that America has forgave them?

What is to forgive??
America is about freedom.
If we can not voice our opinions on the condition of our Country then we have nothing.

Well, America doesn't decide who wins the Grammys. The Recording Academy does. So obviously, the RA likes the Dixie Chicks very much.

Country radio still has not forgiven them. We listen to a country radio station at work and they have YET to mention them winning anything. I love country music, but I hate how narrow-minded its followers are.

The whole Dixie Chicks thing got blown way out of proportion. People bash President Bush every day, but they aren't left to hang out to dry. It's ridiculous. They spoke their opinion, and I think that is a beautiful thing. What is there to forgive????

I loved them before and I love them still.

They're traitors. That's all they are. George W Bush by the way is a very honerable and respectable man and I admire him for that. Some of his policies are good and some are not so good but I think America has lost all respect for the president through all the bashing. It makes me ashamed to say that I come from a place where people can just say whatever they want to say and have no respect for anyone. I have not forgiven the Dixie Chicks!

Why? What did the girls do to regain their grace? i'm a retired Sailor who become stationed in England. the finest element I ever opt for to take heed to even as i purchase a fee ticket to a rustic live performance with protection stress overtones is a tasteless slam on my leaders. The Chicks would have made a mag article, or lent their time with a company coping with this on their personal time. That stunt become finished to the persons who paid for the priviledge to take heed to them sing, in the country whose administration is our maximum efficient best chum. Did I forget to indicate the #a million music on the american charts that week become....vacationing Soldier? through the Dixie Chicks? Posing bare on leisure Weekly 3 weeks after the "apology" is an excellent thanks to tutor your regret. i'm efficient those interest wh---s will be at liberty to exploit the publicity from this all the thanks to the monetary company for years yet to come back.

you are a lot brighter then than i am as i don't understand what happened. the chicks did nothing that needed forgiving.
america is based on the concept of freedom isn't it? so freedom of speech is a given. and all they did was exercise their freedom to speak out.
its a shame they were treated the way they were by their own countryman..........your armed forces go to war to preserve your freedom and yet americans reacted as though no one has the right to express their views. we don't understand what all the ruckus was about...........is it the fact that americans can dish it out but they cant take it? is is the fact that the chicks struck a nerve? i dont know - but they didn't deserve to be treated the way they were, and they do deserve the awards, so good on them!
cheers~!

We all say dumb things at one point or another in our lives. They are good musicians, and have good songs. So I hope they have been forgiven. I can't speak for all of America, but as far as I'm concerned, even though I didn't like what was said, it's time to get over it and move on.

I guess America is not as free as they say they are . Because it should never have reached the point that it did.

What spiteful people many americans are.

Is it that women don't have 'free speech'?

The rest of the world knows people - there is a 'rest of the world'.
