My 7 week old has what I think is a birth mark. It was difficult to notice because unlike other birthmarks I have seen, it is lighter than the skin around it. Not darker. It doesn't bother me and I hope it won't bother her when she gets older. But it spans the whole length of her chest. Shaped like the state of Florida. (haha) Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of a birthmark that is lighter instead of darker and what it might be called?

I think that's called a Cafe au Laite mark because it's light, like coffee with cream.

my daughter has the same sort of thing on the back of her head it is light cxolored and flat. She was in ice so it was examined by many doctors and even under ultrasound an dthey said it was a type of mole she has. It is some kind of mole children are born with - nobody can have it unless they have it at birth. i dont remember the name though - hope this helps. also i know u prolly dont think its a mole but they said my daughters was and it is compleatley flat and colorless.
