If you take the trains, take SEPTA's R1 (from the airport) to 30th Street Station in Center City. From there, you can hop onto the R6 or 7 (I think it's the 7...it goes to Trenton, NJ). From there you will hop onto the NJ Trasit to Penn Station and you're in New York. That route will take about 3 hours and cost around $50-60 all told.

Instead of the SEPTA line after you get to 30th Street, you can take Amtrak for anything from $60-$150 or something like that. The more expensive, the faster you'll get there. The base Amtrak train gets there in under 2 hours about.

You could take a limo (not always a stretch, sometimes just a sedan) and drive to NY, but I imagine that'd take about 2 hours or so and have no idea what it would cost.

I don't know the details, but I'm sure you could take a commuter plane from Philly to Newark or one of the NY airports.

There are also buses I'm sure, but I have no idea where or how to go about that trip. The easiest (for minimal luggage I guess) is going to be the trains.

there are a couple of ways.
1. fly
2. car
3. train - take the R1 (Septa - Ticket will cost $6.00) to 30th Street Station. Then take the R7 to Trenton and then take New Jersey Transit to NYC. OR once you are at 30th street station you can always tak Amtrack to Grand Central Station in NYC. If you take Septa...buy your ticket at the ticket office other wise they charge an extra $2.00 on the train. There is no SEPTA ticket office at the airport.

Try "Dave's Best Limo" service out of Philadelphia. They run shuttles that may be cheaper than the alternatives, probably more direct.
