As long as you stay off the VPN and are not connected to the company servers, and there is no tracking software loaded on your laptop, you should be O.K.

if you delete all traces of firefox when done you should be safe. problem is that just deleting a file doesn't make it disappear. the filesystem just forgets where it was, unless you wipe the file and write over the spaces on the hard disk where it was. depending on how paranoid you are, there are a few solutions.

1) Completely wipe it using something like this: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/system/shred.htm

wipe this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\bigjohnny\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

2) run it completely in RAM. RAM is nice because it is destroyed after shutting down the computer. Only downside I see is it's tricky to set-up. ( http://www.wikihow.com/Speed-Up-Firefox-by-Running-It-In-RAM )

3) if you don't mind a big download and running Linux, then I would use a LiveCD like Knoppix ( http://www.knoppix.org/ ). It runs the whole operating system from CD. do a search for "LiveCD" and you'll find more.

4) if you are fairly knowledgeable about computers and like windows, i'd try making a BartPE bootdisk, it also runs the OS from CD and leaves no traces on the hard disk. It is the bottom of my list because it's not a simple task. ( http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ ).

If you hunt around the torrent sites and P2P, you can likely find some ISOs of BartPE already built and other LiveCDs, but they aren't all legal.

Yes. Your computer will hold the sites in a temporary storage folder(s) when you hit a webpage. Any reputable Network Admin will have no trouble finding your porn traffic.

Also, whoever is providing your internet service will be able to track your activity. Perhaps your hotel has an agreement with your employer to report the information?

The internet has a lot of information available, but there should be no expectation of anonymity!

PortableFirefox is the version i take advantage of: privateness: Does Firefox transportable go away behind any personal documents? A. No. Firefox transportable has its disk cache disabled. It makes use of RAM for cache. all of your cookies and different documents is self-contained on your transportable device. At no time is any personal documents saved on the community device, so regardless of if someone tried to discover it with an undelete application, there will be no longer some thing for them to discover. Hahn is actual besides the undeniable fact that. in the adventure that they music packets at a firewall or Proxy server, then they could see the position you're going. you would ought to attach with some thing like a TOR router with the intention to cover that. yet PortableFirefox does no longer go away tracks on the community device.
