Does Nintendo's Animal Crossing get any better once you have built your house?

I have hit the top level with the house, is there anymore you can do?

the game is all about collections. after you get the highest house, highest store, and all the bugs, fossils, and fish... that's pretty much it

i guess you can breed flowers to get different colors.. not that i think that's all that interesting

the only other thing is events. on holidays. yea, the game can get pretty boring. not that i don't like it, i rather do like it, but it still gets boring

You can build up the collections in the museum and your catalog. Other than that I'm not sure what else... start a new game maybe?
