i am half black half white and 25% chinese, 25% mexican. I like white people. They are people every ethnitiy in the united states look up to. I am only a quarter white, but last night i have been giving big thoughts. Why do people hate white people?

I have come to the conclusion that there is no good reason to hate them? I don't think it's actually hatred. It's envy. give me one good reason to hate white people. all in all some how some way you can fit the word envy into the reason why. ya'll think about that long and hard. k you say slavery but slavery was over a hundred of years ago. so it's not the white people's fault. why you gotta hate white's ancestors? see there is no excuse!

As a result of the experiences of explorers and colonists from more economically (and therefore technologically) advanced countries in Europe to other less advanced areas of the globe, it is deeply rooted in Western and European mythologies that people of other colors and races are intellectually inferior, savage, and basically inferior in most any other way. This ideology remains strong today in the cultural upbringings of many European descendants in America, and thus it is even a part of many people's identities.

The confusion comes when you use terms like "white people" or "black people", because those labels are ambiguous in designating someone either with a certain skin color or from a certain cultural upbringing, or both. You could wrongly say that "colored people" are naturally ignorant, but there are countless examples of brilliant and highly educated people who happen to have "colored" features. Likewise you could say "white people" are racist. But they would not be racist because they have white skin--any color of person could be racist--they would be racist because they were raised to believe that white people have always been on top and therefore are naturally superior (actually European advancement was a result of geographical and situational advantages, not biology as many still believe today--see the source below).

So regarding all debates on race and racism the key is that it's not a matter of biology but a matter of culture, environment, upbringing, and history. A baby of any race from any part of the world can be raised by educated, moral people ("colored" or "white"), and turn out to be brilliant, tough, morally upright and make immense positive contributions to all levels of society. This gets proven all the time throughout the United States and in the world. If you don't know this yet you either haven't been exposed to much outside the box you were raised in, or you just are in denial of whatever evidence you might have seen.

I'm not sure if your brain will actually compute or reject this logic, but there it is nonetheless.

The fact that you bring up envy makes you seem like you have somewhat of a "backwoods" mentality. Unless you look completely caucasian or grew up in an entirely liberal environment, you'd certainly by now have experienced what racism feels like and would understand why a lot of people seem to "hate white people".

I'm white and I grew up in a white community with no reason to learn about racism of any kind. If I did or didn't like someone, it just had to do with that person.

Then I moved. Currently, I'm living in W. Philadelphia where it seems to me like the demographic is a fading population of black people and getting butted out by rich white college kids, probably let loose (with daddy's credit card) on their own for the first time. Due to the circumstances, I'm beginning to show shades of racism, but it's for my own race, not the black people or asians or middle easterners I see all around me, who seem perfectly normal to me. These particular white kids seem a bit inconsiderate and irresponsible when I see them on the street and I hate that it appears as though I'm one of them. In a different community of white folk, though, you don't get this stilted demographic of privilege.

What a blanket question.
Every white person is different like chinese, mexican, black and othrers.
Why would you hate a white person.
If they were Klu Klux Klan or White Supremists and you happened to be part of a group that they were persecuting.

One of many reasons a person could focus in that direction that is if you can hate at all.

Often people just do not want to look at their own self for their being miserable it is easier to blame someone else or a group than to look inward. I have been noticing more and more how some black people cry, "why are we held back?" But the second that one of them does get ahead they are called trader and selling out to whitey
Which way do they want it!? Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Tiger Woods and now Obama are prime examples of a black getting somewhere in life only to be disowned.
Its like denial to suit their own purpose.
I know many black people who are very successful and have a lot
of class. The ones that want to find fault are the ones that just want an excuse for their own lack of ambition or something.

You're 150%.....WOW. How'd ya do that?

Seriously though, hatred is something that gets passed down generation to generation. Are a majority of white people racists and bigoted? No. There are a few @ssholes. Yes. But, I've known people of all races. And a few people of all races are @ssholes. You have to take the good with the bad. There's no getting around that.

I can't say I hate one specific race, there are idiots in every race that makes us all look bad. We are who we are, judge the person not the race.

Don't look for reasons to hate - instead, share reasons to respect, to accept, not to reject.

You sound like my family - black, white, chinese, native, inuit, polish, french, italian - when we have get togethers, we EAT GREAT FOOD! I bet you do, too!
