Unfortunately, it appears that there is not a book on his life, only a screenplay. I looked in several search engines and in Amazon but only the movie is listed.
This is what Wikipedia has to say about him:
Roy L. "Rocky" Dennis (1964–1980) was an American boy afflicted with craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, an extremely rare, disfiguring, sclerotic bone disorder. The condition usually results in neurological disorders and death during childhood; Rocky died at the age of 16. Following Rocky's death, his family donated his body to the University of California, Los Angeles for medical research.
Anna Hamilton Phelan wrote a screenplay based loosely on Rocky's life; Peter Bogdanovich directed the resultant film, entitled Mask, in which Eric Stoltz portrays Rocky. Nearly 20 years after the film's release, Swedish pop musician Jens Lekman published Rocky Dennis in Heaven, an EP containing four songs about Rocky and his portrayal in the film.
Florence "Rusty" Tullis, the mother of Rocky Dennis, passed away on November 11, 2006, at age 70 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on October 14. Ms. Tullis was portrayed by Cher in Mask
Here is another depiction of Rocky Dennis:
Despite being born with craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, a disease resulting in disfigurement of the bones of the face and head, Rocky is a typical teen: he collects baseball cards, plans to take a Harley through Europe, and excels at school. His devoted, yet substance-abusing mother, Rusty, along with her warmhearted biker friends, will do anything to ensure that Rocky is allowed to live as normal a life as possible. Rocky's positive outlook and spirit win him friends and supporters wherever he goes--at school, at the hospital, and while working at a camp for the blind.
