Are there any small, communistic, self-sufficient societies?

So i just watched this movie "the beach" and I was wondering if there are any real places like this. I know Christiania in Copenhagen is somewhat similar.

Israeli kibbutz is probably closest to effective socialist society humanity has pulled off, but still wasn't it.

If there are they will not be for long. I am sure that the christians would seek them out and convert them to the GLORIES of christ.
