Thank you. From reparations to the NAACP. Why no NAAWP? Why? It would be racist, but a NAACP isn't. Go figure. What's good for one, is good for the others.

It might help to do a search for similar questions rather than asking the same one over and over again. Anyway, we learn white history every day in school. I don't really care about having a black history month because I wish we could all be seen as equals and I wish achievements were recognized in the same way regardless of race. Since black history month will probably never go away, then I think it would be completely fair and a good idea for other minorities to have a history month. Historically black colleges are not exclusive to blacks, people of other races do attend them.
I don't think whites are racists pigs, but I also don't agree with making any school exclusive to only a certain race. From what I've seen on here the white people that complain about this issue refer to blacks as animals and dirty ect, so they don't want an all white college or nation for historical purposes, they just want to seperate themselves from what they think they're superior to. I honestly don't think the black race is any more important than other races, we are all humans and we are all equal and in a perfect world we wouldn't judge each other and we would try to get to know people for who they are.

I think you need to get more into your knowledge,
I'm a grade 11 student in Hong Kong and I'm a Filipino, not Chinese.
In my school, there are different races. There blacks AND whites. We learn about black and white history too. You're in the states kid, why would u need a white history month? In our school, we don't have Chinese history month, i wonder why the Chinese don't complain eh?
Also, there are over 15 different nationalities, and we all get along well. There isn't ANY white or black or asian school. There are Chinese schools but only because those are the ones that use Cantonese as their medium.

Black History months here to stay. It's just a time in the
year to educate Americans of the contributions African
Americans have contributed to the USA. Over the centuries
African/Black Americans have been ignored of their accomplish-
ments. 200 years of slavery should count for something, even
though most whites would say that slavery was a terrible thing
many seem more concerned about a month dedicated to
thanking the African American ancestors for the hard work and
dedication given to this country inspite of adversarial and con-
frontation from a racist establishment. We all have benefited from
this hard work and contributions and yet still benefiting from the
patriotism of loyal African Americans. Most people in the US including many African Americans are ignorant of these historical
facts. This month is set aside not only in appreciation by our
government but also as a chance for others to educate them-
selves.

There was a time when blacks were not allowed to go to school. We had to create our own schools in order to get an education. Today, a white person can get a full scholarship to attend a historically Black college or university.
Black history month was started because accomplishments and contributions of Blacks to American culture was not taught in schools. Why should there be a "white" history month when white history is taught year-round?
Uneducated people always want to bring up the fact that slavery ended over a 100 years ago. You neglect to mention the subsequent 100 years of oppression, discrimination, hatred, murder, etc., inflicted on to Blacks in America as a people.

In all fairness, almost every month is white history month. Rather than giving each minority their own month, the public education system should be changed so that its strong focus on Western Civilization (Europe & the United States) is removed and students are taught about World History. (I know there technically are "World Civ." classes, but the ones taught at my high school only focused on the U.S. and western Europe.)
As far as colleges restriced to one race are concerned, that should be done away with.

And sweetie, You are only in the 7th grade. When you get to high school or even hit puberty we will talk. I mean you can't even spell correctly for Christ sake. If you wanna ask an adult question, you have to present yourself like one. At least be mature enough to hit spell check.
And as you can see, you have just been owned. Not by opinion, but actual facts. And to let you know Ms. Know-It-All, Africans had no choice. If Africans would have resisted(which they did eventually) they would have been massacred(which they were). They were basically negotiating with guns pointed at them. Just like Japan etc.
And as a Black person, I don't find myself to be better. Even as we speak during Black Hist. Mth, I treat my Asian, White, Latino, and Arab counterparts with the utmost respect as I do every single day when I enter and leave the school's premises. And also, I'm am aware that I create my own self-image and future. If you didn't know, not all of us Blacks wanna play "Pin the Tail on the Whitey". I take responsibility for all my mistakes and missteps(thank you very much). So go educate yourself before you wanna go spitting this blasphemous garbage.

National Hispanic Heritage Month and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month exist. I'm sure that a month exist for u. People obviously pay more attention to Black History Month as proven in your post. As for the colleges you don't have to be Black to attend.

I catch your drift, and i understand your feelings. The thing on how they sold themselves is UNTRUE. Slavery was started by an English explorer who brought a Indian chief's 2 sons back to England. He told the chief that his sons would meet the king, and be returned home. The sons were cleaned up ad taken to England, but they were ENSLAVED. This lead to slavery all over Europe, then that half of the world. Once colonies in North America were settled and Rich and Poor and USA and Canada were established, they decided to bring Slavery to there countries. 'Black' people were just poor and willing to accept free food and lodging, and were soon taken advantage of.
I completely agree with you on the collage thing. I personally feel more safe around my own race, for fear of saying something to offend those of a different race. Were i live not many black people go to my school, at least not that i know of. I only know of one. I feel rather uncomfortable talking to him, even thought before i do i ask for him to tell me if i say anything to offend.
There's my view. I do apologize if i offend ANYONE

People, DO YOUR RESEARCH... Black history month, which began decades ago as Black History Week, is one of several federally recognized celebration/recognition periods based on race/ethnicity/nationality.
