Repair??????......probably more economical to replace. Standard wire splicing techniques usually aren't acceptable for high resistance heating wire.

Unless there's a problem at getting to the wire but, you can reach the area to repair, I would replace instead. These tapes aren't that expensive to replace and, you'll have peace of mind knowing that it's new and will work.

yes you can, but you must use high temp tape
