no because when I log into msn I type @msn.com so it is for people signing onto hotmail and msn accounts.

It's Miserosoft. Brains are banned. Rational thinking is a sin. Just give them your money & be quiet. How come when you pay $X00 for Vista itr's not yours, isn't that a given? Well, no - you gave all that money only to get a LICENSE to use it, but it remains BillyBoy's property & he can invade your PC when he wants...
Of course, you could get a Mac & abandon all Miserosoft, like I did, then you can laugh at others when they have problems like yours LOL

maybe they're trying to weed out the lazy people. "If they are too damn lazy to type hotmail.com, we don't want the bastards on our site". Unlikely, but it could happen.
