I live in Canada, hes got another kid who he pays support to at $200, now hes got one with me and wants to pay $200. We live in different provinces so I have her all the time, and I dont know if I should be going after more or not. He makes about $3000-$4000 a month

yea ok choice, because it was my idea for him to leave me alone in a province where I know no one, where I have no job, my daughter is only a baby, she will get along just fine without his presence but if I cant afford to feed her because he's decided to cop out of his responsibilities then I think I should go for what Im entitled to rather than what he offers me.

Is there something wrong with the value of the Canadian Dollar !!?? Around here ( California ) I know quite a few devorcees who pay 3x that amount...and make LESS ! But I dont think you should go after more just on principle....it should be based on what you need...not just a % of his income. But you should also be doing your part....I get so tired of woman who " Cant " work because they have a baby....or think they shouldnt have to because some MAN promised to take care of them. It isnt just his responsibility....its yours too !

It takes $$$$ to support a child. He definitely should pay his part. Go for more $$$. But also it may not matter to you weather or not he is in her life. But it is definitely unfair to her. I live in Texas and my daughters father lives in Illinois. He gets her spring break, summer break, and Christmas break. which comes to about 3 months a year. And he talks to her on the phone every day. You should try to work out a schedule like that. He definately should be involved. Good Luck

You should worry more about your kids relationship with her father over this distance instead of how much money you can squeeze out his pockets.

Your kids are more important than money.
