I'm going to be travelling through London and I've seen that one can either take the tube or the coach, but the times seem really long both ways. Are the websites I'm looking at drastically over-estimating or will it really take me at least an hour by coach or 2 by the tube? I would think that it is quicker to go underground than in the traffic. Also, which is easier to get to from Heathrow, Stansted or Luton? Thanks, Stefan

Luton is quicker (1.5 hours) than Stansted (2 hours) by train. The online planners allow plenty of time to traverse London, so you might be able to do it slightly quicker. Bear in mind the Heathrow is west of London, Luton is north, and Stansted north-east. I suspect Luton is slightly cheaper as "regular" trains stop there, compared to Stansted where the Stansted Express is slightly more expensive.

Mind you, Luton needs an extra bus shuttle from the station to the airport, compared to Stansted where the station is right under the terminal.

The tube(underground) does not go to Luton or Stansted.
The coach is your best bet .Tube/train involves changes.
