Hello fellow mothers and mothers-to-be. I just had a baby boy 3 weeks ago! He is adorable. He is loved and welcomed by my whole family. My 2 daughters just adore him. I have a problem, however. Whenever I breast feed him, it is VERY painful. It feels like a burning hot razor is cutting my mammary glands. The pain is felt deep inside as well as the tip. Ever time he nibbles and bites on my nipple, the excruciating pain gets more intense. Could it be an infection? The pain gets so bad sometimes that I have to put my baby aside and take some Tylenols. I've seen a doctor and he could not find anything wrong with my breasts. Please help me? Anyone else had this problem?

I really feel guilty of depriving my son of mommy's milk. I mean, as a baby boy, that is all he wants, right? He is a miracle to me. He came after my 5 year old daughter died a year ago, 3 years after my husband killed himself. I cut my wrists and longed for a baby. I suddenly... got pregnant! I was overjoyed. He is my miracle baby. I think he'll get along fine with my two daughters. My older daughter (15 years old, turning 16 this November!) was born with a birth defect preventing her from walking and lives in the local Hospital. She crawls over to my house and visits me every other day. She is such a good daughter. It has been over a year since Tessa (my younger daughter) drowned but she is still full of life. Doctors say she will never come back, but she did. She loves swimming. I think we'll be a good family. So... nice.

Your additional information is a little eerie.

But, to answer the actual question, you need to talk to a lactation consultant so she can find out if you are latching the baby on correctly.

First, congratulations. When you breast feed make sure the baby has your whole areola in his mouth when he feeds, not just the tip. If your breast is inflamed (redness, tender to touch) and you have a fever, it could be an infection. If your breast are too full when you breast feed, that could make it difficult for your baby to latch on. You may want to express some milk before your baby attaches himself. Also, when your breast get too full, a hot shower will help. The heat will let your breast let down, causing your milk to come out. A baby breast feeds about every 2 hours. You may want to alternate. Express some milk in a bottle.Let your baby take a bottle of breast milk one time and your breast the next time. When you do breastfeed, remember to alternate your breast. Your baby needs to feed from both breast. The most important thing right now is not to give up. It gets easier as the baby gets older. It is important the baby is getting breast milk, whether its from your breast or expressed milk in a bottle. Your local WIC office can help you obtain a breast pump if you need one.

Breastfeeding was once painful within the establishing, however it'll leave. Your spouse can use cream for sore and cracked nipples referred to as Lansinoh, its natural lanolin, and it does to not be washed off earlier than feeding. I observed it very priceless. My lil one, was once feeding for hours on the time, and its good enough additionally. Maybe it could be valued at to invite a lactation guide, or midwife, to investigate in case your little one is latching on effectively. Also, recommend from anybody who has been there, inform your spouse to not give up breastfeeding, as she's going to get mastitis, which relatively painful- simply as an illustration one night time I determined that I will feed best from one breast, as the opposite nipple was once cracked, and by means of the morning I was once going for walks 39.7 fever, and suffering such as you cant suppose! Good success!

After reading the other questions you've posted I feel that you probably don't have any children at all except for the ones in your head which are reflections of a troubled youth to you. Get help.

I wanted to breastfeed... I really did. But I'm with you... IT HURT. Pumping wasn't as bad... so I pumped some and breastfed some for about 4 months for each baby. With my oldest it was an infection but it hurt just as badly with the others too... so, I don't know. You're not the only one to feel that way though. I know it's important to you so try to do it as long as you can. Alternate breastfeeding with using a pump and maybe this will keep you from being as sore.

You are such a freak.

People... don't take this person seriously. She is obviously screwing around with everybody or just crazy. Check out her previous questions. She asked this very same question six months ago, word for word, yet her baby's only 3 weeks old. Yea right.

And she also has questions on there about her daughter (who has supposedly been dead for a year) being too sexual for her age, also posted six months ago. How does that happen???
