Rupture during pregnancy or childbirth, excessive bleeding after childbirth, cancer, and fibroids. Fibroids is probably the most common, especially if women are having trouble going to the bathroom because the fibroids are so big.

My mother in law has to have one because she has very heavy bleeding. There could be a lot of other reasons though.

the most common is a ruptured uterus. also excessive bleeding after child birth. normally an emergency c-section. cancer and tumors

I had my hyst due to endometriosis and a grade 4 retroverted uterus. i couldn't even use a tampon because it hurt so much.

I've known other women who've had a hyst due to uterine fibroids.
