To some, dancing is a sport.
To others, dancing is not. Perhaps, they would say it's an art.

Okey, Merriam Webster defined sport as a diversion, a recreation, a physical activity engaged in for pleasure... and which sex is among those included as a sport! Whoaw!

Ask the dancers! Some would say that it is.

A sport is definitely an activity that can bring diversion, recreation and pleasure... but it doesn't mean that dancing has to be a sport if dancing also brings diversion, recreation and pleasure.

I am a dancer and I believe that it is not a sport, per se. But some has transformed it into a sport. Therefore, even if I do not believe that dancing is a sport, it has become a reality that it has become one.

What makes dancing a sport? When people started to make rules on how dancing should be performed and started to score. Then, that is dancing. Proofs - dance competitions. All dance competitions are sports.

Dancing would be many stuff: paintings, game, custom, social interest, sport. that's as much as a individual what he/she comes to a decision to emphasise. Technically i'm striving to be a Dancesport Athlete (that's the call for aggressive ballroom dancers of Championship point) yet I prefer to think of of dancing as an paintings style. I nonetheless agree that it demands a lot of well-being, that the muscle tissues of a ballerina are comparable in power to the muscle tissues of Olympic athletes, yet nonetheless - dancing is an paintings to me, very annoying paintings. there's a difference between an artist and a painter, yet technically speaking they the two paint.

Yes, I do. My daughters have danced since the age of 3, competively and if you every watched how hard they work at it and how much practice it takes and then tried it yourself you would find out it is not just going out a relaxing and dancing with your friends. It takes hard work, swollen toes, feet, legs, broken bones, bruises, patients, coordination and a whole lot of love for the arts. . My hat goes of to them. Dancing competively takes as much time and practice as a football player.

Just to add: They are judged on keeping time, how long the dance is, too long points taken off, to short points taken off, coordination and timing with the team, dance steps, posture, appearance, etc, etc.
