In all truthfullness, i think that most people UNDER the age of 18 are somewhat smarter, and have more sense than other people........ honestly, before you go and bash me and tell me im dead wrong, think about it, how many smart people (beside yourself) do you know are smart? im onle 14 and i have a GPA of 4.0 and i feel like i have a commen sense of like 100000000.0! and you can go and say that im only 14 and need to realize that most people are smarter than me, but if they are sooooo smart, why is there global warming, and crap thats gonna end the world anyway!?!?!?!? ya know?! i dont know, but this has just been bothering me for a long time and i feel like most people on here have some sense............ ha ha ha im so friggin confused! lol

I am way over 18 and I think most adults really mean to say more experienced not smarter. As you get older you learn alot of lifes lessons but just like you I had to learn on my own. That is why we have global warming and unwanted children and alot of other things because we all have to find out for ourselfs.Someday you will be one of those over 18 trying to tell the 14 year old your experiences and what to expect and they too will think you are putting them down if you aren't careful on how you say it.Hope this helps you understand that you are smart and maybe smarter than some adults but not with life experiences.

You admit that you are confused so you are 100% right of course. I think, ultimately, it depends on the person and thier nature vs. nuture situation. But, yes, as we grow older we decline into something more basic. The obvious Tale-Tell Heart here is our health and memory capacity.
We only now live longer because our younger generations have fgured out new ways of keeping the older generations alive. I guess the message here should be...
(Contribute while you're young. Make it positive and lasting no matter how "big" it is.)
Something else to chew your cuds on. Why does the Counselor thing stop in school? I know I sure need someone to talk to right after "recess" time at work.

I dont think its fair to say anyone of any age is smarter than anyone. People learn different things at differnt times and some dont learn as fast, some never learn. I think that at age 15 I was much smarter than my brothers and sister and they were 7 years older. Fact be known, I graduated, they didnt so I was right, I was smarter! There are somethings that you dont know that I do, but heaven knows these days, you could probably teach us a few things! Dont let it get to you, Poop Happens!

18 year olds do know more then 12-16 year olds. It might not be in educational wise but its in wisdom of life. they have had two years more of experience which is not a lot but enough to make the more wiser and more mature. just like a 16 year old knows a little more than 12 year old and a 12 year old knows little more than a 10 year old. They already been at that stage of life and they have move on to another stage where they are learning more. that's why they have a certain age for job, driving, drinking, etc.

in 4 years you'll gain wisdom
people keep thinking of ways to solve problems but hardly ever act
when people become hysterical they hypothesize how the world will end, so on, so forth, etc.
everyone at every-age thinks they're smarter than others

yes of-course 18 year old people know more than a 12-14 year old person.they are more experienced and matured in their thinking than a 14 yrea old.just like the way you being 14 year old know more than any of your younger cousin who might be 10 years old.Not just in the educational wise but their experience and wisdom makes them know more about life.

you may be right about this younger people have many more oppurtuniteis to learn about things these days but most need guidance from adults who though they may not be really smart they have something to offer from experiences in life.we can all learn from each other but i find common sense is in short supply not just with younger people but certainly people who are old enough to know better but still make bad choices.good luck in life, and remember we all have something to offer.

Experience, history, trial and error but most of all; failure. Younger folks can't say that they have been across the US to other countries, speak or have spoken four languages, met all their heroes, truly loved and lost have real life long friends and on and on and on...
