Sony is the best but it costs LOTS of money than what it rightfully should but if your looking for a good cheap computer than HP is the way to go

Well, out of those options, I would choose Sony. The Sony Vaio is an amazing laptop, and can run up to $3,000 dollars.

But the best laptop out there would probably be an AlienWare computer. They are a sub-brand of Dell.

But if you want to really get down to it, it is what each certain laptop has in it. For example, A cheap Toshiba laptop can be worse then a good Compaq laptop, but a cheap Compaq laptop can be worse then a good Toshiba laptop.

You have to look at the specs on each laptop, and compare the price, etc. etc.

It is not so much the actual brand of the laptop, but the brand and hardware that is inside of it. AMD processors are far better then Intel. If you want more space, it will cost more. Are you using it more for games, videos, or for running 10 programs at once.

If you are buying a laptop, I wish you luck!

the answere to your question depends on what you are going to use the laptop for and what features you prefer. here is the benefit of each brand.
Toshiba and Fujitsu usally have the best screen's
Sony is usually the thinnest and lightest ( but always overpriced)
HP and compaq have cheaper prices
now if you where looking comparing laptops from these manufactures with exact same specs, i would go with toshiba as my number 1 choice, the reason is that they have great screen(picture) quality, good prices, and they less problems then other brands. hp is good, i only seen a couple of fujitsu and they also seem to be good. sony is good but overpriced, and finally compaq is a piece of Sh**t.

Sony is simply the best, but, they like to play hardball with us and charge 2 times what they should, i would defiantly suggest HP laptops in terms of being good enough, and at a reasonable price

Mac is the best out there. It runs OS X and Windows it can handle more than 4 gigs of RAM - PC based Windows machines max out at 4. The best for my money and they are about 20 per cent more expensive than Windows based laptops.
