The Answer: depends on how you define Rock N' Roll! If you define Rock N' Roll by guitar skills and all-around unique capabilities then you'd have to consider Jimi Hendrix as the #1 artist! There other "individuals" you could consider like Ted Nugget or Slash. Others are self-professed pioneers...like Little Richard. So...it really depends on how you DEFINE Rock N' Roll. If your idea of Rock N' Roll is "the band" well consider Led-Zeppelin or KISS. The answer might change with the era you are considering. Earlier artists might include Stevie Ray Vaughn or Calvin Cooke. Classic artists that deserve consideration might include Santana. So...again this is a LOADED question that may need to be redefined or at least narrowed down. I hope this gives you some insight on how to redirect your question.
