I have an old k7sem V3.0C motherboard from ECS Elitegroup. I have been trying to get it to run, but it wont work. There is no video signal. Also, after a few seconds of running with no video, it just shuts down. Any idea what the problem is? THanks!

Is it even worth trying to get it to run.
How has this hardware been treated over it's lifetime?
Could it have been damaged by static?
Is the CPU OK?
Is the RAM OK?
How many min does it run before it shuts down?
Have you attempted to plug in a third party video card?
The list could go on....

Try booting it without the video card (I know you won't be able to see anything). If the computer seems to boot, it's probably a bad video card. Other things to try are: re-seating the RAM, flashing the bios and pressing F1 (setup) to check the boot settings. It could also be the power supply... If you have (or can borrow) another power supply try swapping it out.

i cannot do the diagnostic only from your information.

Al least, make sure you didnt hear any unusual beep and unplug everything except memory. try to restart and try to get the video on. :)

The mobo is probably no good. The southbridge chip on it is not working right.
