I'm helping my daughter with her math homework. Will someone please refresh my memory? : estimate the diameter of a wheel that has a circumference of 31 inches....Is she supposed to multiply by 3.14?

C = pi*d
31 = pi*d
31/pi = d
d = 9.87

And to answer- if you divide the circumference x Pi, you'll have the diameter. Remember this- The circumference is always the largest measurement of a circle...it can help when you're in a bind.

yeah id say 10 inches diameter times 3.14, since its an estimation it doesnt need to be exact

To find the circumference, I believe the equation is pi x radius squared. I hope this helps!

yes because circumference is pi times diameter: C=pi d.

okay circumference is = pi*d

pi= 3.14
d= the diameter

31=pi*d

i would plug in my 31 and just divide by pi. dont multiply!

multiply 3 times its diamiter
pi=3.14 or just.....pi lol
