Im 5'7 average size not to big not to small kinda build.
and so far I gained 22 pounds and I'm 23 weeks and 3 days pregnant
here is something I read its pretty good
"Nowadays all we seem to be concerned with is how much anyone weighs. Is so and so fat? Or are they skinny? We really don't seem to care much about health. These attitudes linger into pregnancy, when weight really does matter, but maybe not in the ways you think.
Go back to when my husband was born and my mother-in-law will tell you the delightful story of how she went in to her doctor for the first visit weighing 99 pounds (after two previous children). He gives her several prescription medications. She had water pills, she had diet pills, she had it all. The message was loud and clear, don't gain weight.
Many practitioners don't do this any more, although a good majority still don't send the right messages about weight gain in pregnancy. Society is also largely to blame for our fear of fat, even during pregnancy.
Anyone here have night mares about chubby thighs, expanding waists and a body that is never quite the same? One woman told me recently that when she's done having children her husband is going to pay good money to have her body put back together "the way he found it."
Let's look at what needs to happen to stay healthy during pregnancy.
First of all, no matter what you weigh prior to pregnancy you must gain weight.
Women who are clinically overweight still need to gain at the minimum 15 pounds, and women who are underweight need to gain more than the average statement of 25-35 pounds, usually at least 10-15 pounds more depending on the severity of the weight problem. These figures are for the healthy woman carrying a single baby. Moms who are expecting multiples will need to gain more weight, although no standards have been devised for these special needs as a whole. "
7.5 - 8.5 lbs Baby
2 lbs Amniotic Fluid
1.5 - 2 lbs Placenta
1.5 - 2 lbs Breast Tissue
3 lbs Blood Volume
2 - 2.5 lbs Uterine Muscle
4 lbs Water
8 lbs Maternal Stores

Well some people gain most of their weight in the second trimester. So you could be one of those people. But don't let embarrassment keep you from seeing the doctor. If it bothers you what he has said so much then try to see if another doctor will take you this late. You might find one that will. Regardless he weight gain is a guideline. Many people go over it and have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies. But it might mean it will be a little tougher on you during the pregnancy and after wards if you gain more than the recommended weight. My sister was pretty average weight before she had her last baby so the doctor wanted her to gain about 30 pounds. She ended up gaining 80. Her baby was just fine. Although it meant that the last few weeks she was very uncomfortable due to the amount of weight she gained. And it has been more difficult to lose the weight. But other than that, all was fine. So please don't let your weight depress you or upset you. See a doctor, any doctor. Take care

I am 25 weeks also, and at my 23 week appointment I had gained 6 lbs total. I was overweight to begin with...so I don't know why I didn't gain more. I lost some weight in my first trimester because I had moved right before I got pregnant and was camping alot so my eating habits were all wacky. 19 pounds doesn't sound horrible, just try to maybe cut back on sugar or eat a little healthier, just so you don't gain too much more. Good luck.

I think your weight gain sounds fine. :) 19 pounds at 25 weeks is somewhere between average and the high end of average. Either way, you're doing great.
I had not gained anything by 25 weeks, but that was because I had lost over 10 pounds in first tri from morning sickness and was slowly gaining it back. Every woman is different.

I am 25 weeks pregnant too and I had a BMI which said I was underweight when I fell but I have gained about 10kgs (22pounds). I was a little bit worried to begin with but now I am fine. Your weight gain sounds completely normal. Take Care. :-)

I was on a diet of sorts through my whole pregnancy and did not gain a single pound. I was overweight to begin with and my doctor did not want me gaining to much.
I would be careful about gaining to much as it is going to be hard to get it off once the baby is born, but you do have to take in consideration that some of that is going to be placenta and water so you probably did not gain a whole lot of fat pounds. I would not worry.

I gained probably 25 lbs but I was over weight . You are only suppose to gain about 20 to 25 lbs during pregnancy anything less would be bad and anything over would be excessive.
