Go out for Defense. I played d-line (guard)when i was a freshman, 5-9 150lbs. Your goal is getting under, over and around those fat Offensive lineman. You are quick enough, and its a great start to learn the way the game works as a beginner. Then you can switch positions from there.

Kick butt dude! Good Luck!

i don't know who they're trying to kid saying 5.7 is fast. retime yourself and make sure because there is no reason you should be that slow.
in 7th grade i ran a 5.6, and i'm an o-lineman.
5.7 is pretty bad for anywhere off of the o/d-line. hs senior d-linemen run about 5.2, so unless you're huge you're probably mistaken. try it again and have someone time you rather than timing yourself. make sure you sprint all the way through, because you can lose a lot of time on the last 5-10 yards just because you're tired.
if you get the same result, consider playing guard or de. guards are generally the smallest o-linemen because they need to be able to pull, etc. it helps if you work on your footwork too by jumping rope.
you can get faster by running a lot, or doing certain work outs. if your school has a stregnth and conditioning coach, ask him to work with you. you'll see improvements before next season.
you might want to work on these drills because in all areas other than your 40 time, you look like a good reciever or db.

thats a decent speed, height, weight for a fullback. i think given your strength and size, you shoud play that position, i think youll like it becuase you get a running start through the hole to level those LB's, and even get around 5 carries a game and some catches in the flats.
