All season -- we don't get enough snow for snow tires

Well, my husband sells for Goodyear International, and of course the sales people will suggest that you buy seasonal tires, it really is not necessary as long as your tread depth is very good at the time when you would be switching to winter tires. For 3 months of driving and 9 months in storage, the cons outweigh the pros. It is also not good for tires to "just sit" there for months at a time. Another thing to consider is if you have storage for another set of tires all year. I live in Michigan, we get plenty of snow, and I haven't had winter tires as long as my husband has been in the business and have not needed them.

What kind of tires isn't really important. As long as there's a decent tread and the driver knows how to use them. I've seen four wheel drivers with brand new winter tires spinning all four tires. I drive a front wheel drive car with standard transmission. I use the same basic tires all year round and can drive through anything. It's all about knowing how to use proper clutch control and torque control.

I prefer to have tires on my car all year round. It's no good to only drive on tires in the winter.
